What Is It?

The LS32 is the natural evolution of the PS32. It uses the same sized chassis and same sized detector inside, but adds two crucial features to the system. It refreshes at a 30hz rate, which produces a live streaming image with none of the freezing or ghosting associated with 9hz units. The LS series also adds in a marking laser to indicate thermal targets to team-members who may not have thermal assistance.

Who Uses It?

The LS32 is made for police forces and law enforcement officers, but has found a home in the range bag of tactical shooters and the backpacks of discerning hunters. These units are frequently used when varmint hunting.

What Is It Designed For?

The LS32 is made to live in a police cruiser. It charges via USB and is instantly activated with no warm-up time necessary. The idea is that an officer responding to an incident can quickly and easily scan for objects of interest or potential threats in any scenario, and then highlight those targets for other officers who may not have FLIR equipment of their own.

What Is It Capable Of?

Because of this 30hz refresh rate and lower price point than military models, the LS32 is a unique candidtate for anyone trying to build a "FLIR sight" that would mount on a rifle. A magnified optic behind the LS32 could be zeroed to the imager's display and used as a makeshift thermal weapon sight. That high speed image also make the LS32 a solid choice if building a goggle or helmet mounted FLIR system.
