What Is It?
The Nyx-14 PRO monocular builds on the Nyx-14 models to offer one of the best night vision goggles currently on the civilian market. It is available with a wide variety of internal tubes and features an integrated IR laser that can be activated to indicate to other night vision users where you are looking with your device.
Who Uses It?
The Nyx-14 PRO is the premium general purpose night vision device that can see use in all kinds of fields. It's proven popular with law enforcement response teams, dedicated varmint hunters, and even seen limited deployment overseas. By covering only one eye, the Nyx-14 maintains a more natural feeling field of view, and allows the non-dominant eye to integrate when there is enough ambient light. The addition of the IR laser makes this unit popular with groups using multiple devices in a team setting.
What Is It Designed For?
The Nyx-14 is designed to be an alternative to the PVS-14 monocular and keeps the same list of features with some additional capabilities. It is most commonly used as a monocular on a helmet mount, or without the helmet with a hand free head mounting system that keeps both hands free.
What Is It Capable Of?
With a wide variety of mangnified lenses and camera adapters, the Nyx-14 can be converted from a close range monocular into a high power spotting scope. A number of different rifle sight mounts also allow it to be clipped in front of a magnified daytime sight, attached behind an existing red-dot sight, or converted into a stand-alone weapon sight using the AIM system.
